My name is Gretchen Miller, I have been in the horse industry for over 25 years.
As a teen, I competed in pee wee, youth, high school, and amateur rodeo where I had much success! I currently rodeo and barrel race in the Northwest and train out of my home. I started Perfect Match Horse Connection in light of my Step daughters, Zoey and Summer.
For me, like many, it all started with a wild pony my mom got me in hopes to barrel race with. Growing up, I watched my parents place a lot of faith in horse sellers and many times not getting the horse described or promised. My parents wanted fast horses for me but many of the horses were just not safe.
After starting my own family in 2003, I took a hiatus from horses only to return to a very different horse world. I began hunting for a horses for my step daughters and became overwhelmed. Feeling renounced, I turned to the internet Social platforms, Craigslist, and others. Like many who look to buy horses, I became discouraged. I had no idea where to start or who to trust, most of the time trial and error paved the road, which proved to be very expensive. However, I decided to stop buying horses that “might” work for my family and took charge of my purchases to find the “right” horses. I took it upon myself to become highly educated in horse buying and learned it’s not for the faint hearted. I researched substantially, learned from others and taught myself exactly what to look for in buying a horse. I took much of my own experiences in buying horses to become the agent I am now!
My goal started with horse safety and happiness for my own kids and over the years people began to ask me where I would find my personal horses. I would explain how the journey sometimes took months, even years to come across the right horse. But people watched my family become successful and the horses I found were winning, they began to want the same. After a while, friends and lesson student families began to ask me for help to find them horses. After so many successful pairs made on my behalf, I decided to create a business to help pair buyers with sellers and that’s where Perfect Match Horse Connection began!
